Our port to the RCX supports the exploration of parallel programming with ample room for user programs. The port is described in Jon Simpson's paper A Native Transterpreter for the LEGO Mindstorms RCX. Currently1 the port is being updated to reflect changes to the Transterpreter's bytecode format; this new format is described in the paper Virtual Machine Based Debugging for occam-pi.
If you have an RCX, and are interested in doing a bit of C programming (and learning some fun stuff about virtual machines and the LEGO hardware), pull our git repos, join the mailing list, and help us out. We'll be doing the updates soon enough, no worries.
